Back when we were kids, Twitter didn’t have a built-in search feature (gasp!). Thankfully, a bright mind or two at Bam! Flash Media saw a shiny opportunity to merge the biggest, baddest search engine (Google) with the newest, hippest (do people say “hip” any more?) social media platform, and launched the creatively named Twoogel.
Long story short, Twitter ended up building a search engine into their site making Twoogel pretty much obsolete. We still pay the $12/year for the domain because we think it’s funny – plus it shockingly still gets a few hundred hits every month. It has a bit of a cult following for people searching for “old tweets” (cough, cough, NSA, cough).
